What is a PER?
A PER is a Past Exalted Ruler — an Elk who previously served as the Exalted Ruler, the highest elected officer of the Lodge.
After completing their term as Exalted Ruler, they become a PER and continue to be an important part of the Lacey Elks. Their years of experience and knowledge of the Lodge allow them to mentor current officers, offer guidance, preserve Lodge traditions, and continue supporting our members and community.
Our Lacey Elks PERs also remain very active! You’ll often see them volunteering, helping with Lodge events and fundraisers, and of course, cooking for everyone during our summer Shuckin’ Mondays!
Becoming a PER represents leadership, service, experience, and an ongoing commitment to the Elks.
When you see PER after a member’s name, now you know — they once had the honor and responsibility of leading our Lodge!
